The largest piece. The quietest. The most impossible to ignore.

It’s not just the largest — it’s the most time-consuming, the one that holds the most modules, and the one that creates the greatest presence in any space. A spectral gradient that transitions through pink, lilac, mauve, sage green, sky blue, and white in a structured way, tone by tone, module by module, without skipping or rushing.

At 50 cm, this piece doesn’t complement a wall. It defines it.

The Process

270 individually folded modules and over 2,700 precision folds in total on 90 gsm paper. The spectral gradient requires each chromatic section to be planned before the first fold — any error in color distribution breaks the visual continuity of the entire piece. It is the most technically demanding piece in the catalog. Photography with harsh light activates the reliefs between modules and transforms the surface into something that seems to move.

Hola, soy Mon (MÖMÖ)

Empecé a doblar papel con 13 años, sola, con un libro y mucha paciencia. Siempre me obsesionó lo mismo: que todo encaje, que no haya trampa, que la arista sea exacta. Lo que empezó como una obsesión por la simetría perfecta se convirtió hace dos años en MÖMÖ Lab.

Tras años en el mundo de la ingeniería química y el marketing corporativo, hubo un momento en el que paré. Me pregunté qué me quedaba cuando quitaba todo lo que no había elegido. Y lo que quedó fueron mis manos doblando papel.

Cada pieza que ves la hago yo, a mano, en España. No hay máquinas, no hay producción en serie. Solo papel, precisión y color que no pide permiso. Quiero que cuando alguien entre a tu casa y vea la pieza, pare. Que pregunte. Que no pueda creer que está hecha a mano.
